Green Smoothie

HI!

This morning, I wanted to share a routine that I have been doing for the past few weeks and I have been feeling the results already.  I have been making green smoothies.  The honest truth, it has taken me awhile to adjust to the taste.  I don't use any sweeteners at all.  No honey, no agave nectar, nada, zilch, nothing! =/

I thought I would share my base recipe with you and you can adjust as you like!
Sometimes, I might not have Kale and sometimes I'll add more. Sometimes, I will use a mix of fruits or sometimes just one.  The important thing is that you adjust it to your liking!

1 1/2 cup spinach
1/2 cucumber sliced with peel
1/4 sliced lemon with peel
1 cup frozen strawberries (or any fruit you would like)
1/2 cup kale
1 cup liquid of choice (unsweetened is best)

You might like to add a sweetener to start off and then wean yourself off if you like!
I used Soymilk this time, because that's what I had, but almond milk is nice as well.
I also like to add Chia seeds. I didn't do it this time. =(

Your end result

Cheers to your health!

30 Day Abs Challenge

So, now its on to the 30 day Abs Challenge!
I started this June 1st.

Here it is, for those who might be interested!

30 Day Squat challenge completed!!!!

I ended the 30 day squat change on the 30th of May!  I really enjoyed it and have noticed a difference, nothing like Coach Be can do. But it was an awesome start.  I would have never thought that I would be able to do 250 squats. Some days I used weights, not heavy ones, and others I just felt so beat.  I plan to keep up my squats.  As, I was nearing the end, I began to break them up in to 50 and take a short breather and jump back in!

I so enjoyed the challenges, that I have started another.  June 1st was my first day, and I am working on the abs.  I know that it will take more then this challenge to actually change my belly, but it is worth a try. I will be posting that challenge.

Let's be healthy!

Two more weeks to go

Two more weeks to go and the results have not been what I would have liked!
The blame does go on me!
I must say that Turbo Fire has been fun.    My diet has not changed, I am enjoying everything and not counting calories at all. My water intake, well let's just talk about something else! =)  But with all of my mishaps, I have lost 10 pounds!  So that's 3 months work!  I will probably take a week off and start again.  This time I will try my best to watch my portions and hope that results will be better.  But I can say that I have reached my pre pregnancy weight!  Hopefully, I can get down to what I was for my Renewal of Vows!

Fitness Schedule

Hola,

I wanted to share some encouragement here! I hope that this will help anyone who is trying to get on an exercise schedule. (Now, this is what works for me!) You have to first acknowledge that it is going to take determination and courage to exercise, especially if you are the inactive type. Make it an anchor point of your day, schedule your activities around your "getting healthy time"!  Make it an appointment that you can not miss! I am a stay at home mom and my husband gets to work from home most of the time, so I have him to help me. I do not have a set time to exercise (Ex. 5 am.) I have a 5 month old baby, folks, who still gets up to nurse at night, so if Noah just happens to be sleeping at 5 am, I am going to be sleeping too.=) I just can't seem to get myself out of bed too much earlier than the kids! Sorry! It's a good thing that they are on summer break! =0) So, when I rise I will have my time with God and take care of Noah and whenever he seems content and I know that I can have at least an hour of uninterrupted time to exercise, then that's my time. I make sure I get it in before breakfast, that's my rule, because I know that if I wait any time after then , it will not happen for me! (There have been times where I am working out at 7:30 or 9:00 am.) Now this is what works best for me. Yours might be after breakfast, or maybe right before bed, or while the kids are at school! You just have to find out what time is best for you.

Listen, mommies! If you just had a baby, especially a c-section, you know you have to wait at least 6-8 weeks before trying to get on a program. I know I felt as though I had to jump right back in and get myself together but after having 5 c-sections, I knew I had to take it easy!
Also,if you are breastfeeding, you have to remember that losing weight is not as important as getting the proper nutrients to keep up your milk supply and in order to do that you have to have plenty of rest, water and good food. If you really fell like you got to do something, try walking and stretching and when you feel like you can do a little more add in a little more. Your body will let you know if you are over doing it.
Now, I know that I probably could not have my morning exercise without the help of my husband and children, they will tend to the baby if he begins to fuss while I am exercising. So, if you can have a friend over to help you during your workout time, that would be wonderful! =)
If not put the baby in a stroller and go for your walk! Just make sure to move your body and give it your all.

No Fry July......

Well, I have been so determined to get my workouts in! I just am not so good at getting my eating habits together! I really love me some food! (=p) I'm sure some of you out there understand where I am coming from. Water intake is also difficult for me, but I am determined to start. So let me get to the point here... drum roll please....
A better eating habit for the month of July. Hence, No Fry July! I figured since I am working out, it's best that I make better choices in my dietary selection. (waaaaaaa!!!)

So who out there wants to join?

Here is what I am planning on doing:
no frying
cutting out all junk
watching my portions
drinking lots of water
eating more raw.

Hoping to lose at least five pounds this month and some inches.

I'll try to post recipes and pictures of my menu and if you have any ideas please post them as well!

So here is the deal...I am just starting my 6th week. I weighed in on my fourth week and this is my results:

Weight loss 5 pounds
Inches off my arms = 2
Inches of waist = 4

I pray I can do better!

Back on track to lose some weight.......

Summer is fast approaching, and my youngest is now 4 months old! I am ready to get back into the swing of things and start a workout regimen.

Last year, hubby and I decided to do P90X, the results were great and I am sure that they could have been better had we changed up our eating habits.  We eat pretty healthfully (we are vegetarians), but sometimes those late night snacks and all those delicious frappuccinos that my hubby makes, (well you get the picture) just didn't help our cause much.
But, I'm back on track!  I am starting out slowly, I am kind of scared of P90X after my 5th c-section. Let's just say, I'm giving Chalene Johnson a try! =)

Maybe someone might want to join me on this journey!
