Modern Soapmaking Inspirational Soap Challenge

When I came across Kenna's challenge, I just had to play. I was so happy to have been 1 of the 15!

Thank you so much Kenna, it is what I needed to kick me back into soaping.

So here is what I received in the kit:

So many goodies! I was soooo happy and soooo excited!!!!!!

 My challenge was:

 To craft a batch of soap using the color pallete below, and one of the ingredients from this kit.

Here is a photo of the finished soap in the mold.

Some whipped body butter

I am so happy to say that my soap room is complete sans my feminine touches! But it is ready for business.  I have already made soap!  My first batch! But I am editing the video as I type this. So I wanted to share another creation I made today!

Coconut Lime Verbana...

Yes, Coconut Lime Verbena Fragrance has been turned into my Copacabana Soap!

That boat in the background is very special to me. It was a gift from a dear family, and I love them and this boat very much!

This scent on this bar is very refreshing!

Dragon's Blood

Are, any of you acquainted with the scent of Dragon's Blood?

It is a very nice scent and difficult to describe. It's earthy with hints of incense, maybe a touch of vanilla and a bit of citrus. You must really try it.

Winter Forest....Soap that is

There is nothing like snow, it just puts me in such a good mood. It's cuddling weather and seeing all the white, bright, and glistening snow really reminds me of God's goodness!

I got an order to make quite a few Christmas Soap Gift Boxes!!!!!

I was so excited and nervous because I wanted to make sure that I would do a good job! So, off to research and find something that would be beautiful to present!

Yup, this soap was so much fun to make and very time consuming as well. I still find it very difficult to make whipped tops, to get the right consistency sometimes seems like a chore and it never fails that in making sure it's right, I always make it in abundance! 

But here is a few pictures of the soap!

Now, I know I am biased because I made it, But it is so pretty and smells soo good!!!!

The soap balls had to be premade before the rest of the soap, it is usually a good idea to do this a couple of days before, but did I do that? No, I did it all in one day and it took very long. =)

Here are some sliced pieces.  The slices are a pretty good size!

Nature's Garden Fragrance Haul

I am sure a lot of you soapmakers are familiar with Nature's Garden.  This was my first purchase with them and tried my best to research as much as possible.

Now, I by no means can buy large quantities of fragrance oils, so I happened to have found Nature Garden's prices reasonable with what I can afford. (Does that make sense? Biggest amount purchased is 16 oz for a bottle!)

I plan to review their fragrances, so stay posted.

My main supplier has been Brambleberry, and I love them. I was just wanting to try something new.

I will be posting a video on my youtube channel about this haul, so stay tuned for that!

So let's get started!

Now this is very cute! I have never seen this before. It's called an aroma bud, and it is scented with fragrance. Now it's cute, but I think I like the samples from Brambleberry best. I just might post a haul from Brambleberry as well.

So I ended up buying seven fragrance oils. The white and blue bottles are 8oz. and the white and green are 16oz.  I am pretty used to getting my fragrance and essential oils in amber glass bottles, so I am not sure if having them in these plastic bottles affect the oil in any way! I am hoping that someone can shed light on this for me. (oh, and for you soapmakers out there who might be reading this, what do usually do with the amber glass bottles, I am stock piling them right now!)

The Gingerbread Man!

In my case it's gingerbread men!

I thought it would be cute to make gingerbread men soap.

You can bet that these will not be running away!

I made these the other day and boy was it comedy in the making.

A Stranger and Soap

A stranger.....that would be me. Soap, well that's what I love to make.

I have been gone for quite some time and I think that I have some real legitimate reasons and even soapmaking has been something that I couldn't get to.  I won't ramble here. I will say that I am thankful for the opportunity to make some soap and film it for you guys to watch.
