Thoughtful Thursday...Recharge, Reconnect, and be Revived

Hi Friends!
Have you ever felt that you needed some recharging? How about to be reconnected with something that you love? Or even yet you felt so out of touch or down that you wanted to be revived
Well my friends, that is me! Yes, to it all!
I have been so very busy and so many things have been going on and if you have been reading my post you know that our household is pretty busy!
No complaining, really! I am truly grateful for my situation!
Listen all those things that I needed, I have been filled and blessed and I am looking forward to more of that beautiful blessing that I have been receiving!
In the midst of busy schedules and work, we have been attending a week of prayer and it has been such a blessing!

This was tonight's topic! Boy, I have been loving it!
Recharging doesn't always mean doing nothing, or vacationing, but it also means fellowshipping with like minded individuals learning about the condition of our hearts and that Jesus is the answer.

Love you all!

An Anniversary Dinner

Hi Friends!

I know I haven't posted anything for quite some time, but we have been in the middle of a move and just some other family affairs that have taken priority.  We have been doing all this, while  still homeschooling the kids and tending to their needs.  In the midst of all these things, our wedding anniversary crept up on us and had to pass us by. But, we scheduled a couple hours where we could have my parents watch the babies so that we can go out for a bite and just take a breather.

So where did we go?

Veggie Grill.... and it was so delicious!

Hubby and I shared this hamburger! It was the "Crab Cake" and boy was it delicious! I know I should have taken the photo before I started to demolish it, but it was just calling my name!

If you are around a Veggie Grill, I highly recommend this burger! Their salads are delicious as well.

Long Beach

We spent a beautiful day in Long Beach this past Sunday.  I have not gone to Shoreline Village in years.  The best part was catching up with a friend who we had lost contact with for about 3 years, nothing had changed, we just picked up where we had left off!  I guess that's what you call a tie that binds like family.  I praise God for it.

We spent our day having lunch and walking the pier and enjoying some dessert. Here are just as few pics I took.

Hope you enjoy!

Watching him, made me want to rent a boat and just sail away and as providence will have it, look what I found!!!!  Now, in faith I will be waiting and working for the funds to make it happen!

Aye, Aye Captain!!!!!!

The Taj Cafe

The Taj Cafe is amazing!  The food is out of this world! The Owner is so sweet and makes you feel like an old friend.

This post is soo overdue! ( Gotta spank the honey, because he still hasn't sent the pics over to me from his phone! =/  But, I got to admit it's been a bit hectic in our household)

A little backdrop on our reason on how we ended up at this wonderful cafe...... A month back we were gifted a 4 day stay at a beautiful resort in Ventura. (Thank you to all Sankey's involved) It was a much needed rest.  Hubby decided to treat me to some Indian Cuisine, so happy that time has changed his tastebuds, there was a time when he didn't care for Indian food, can you believe it!!!  So, as he did some research, he came across some wonderful reviews on, The Taj Cafe and off we went for our romantic dinner just us and Noah. ( He still breastfeeds, and we love his company!)

The atmosphere is so nice, and we were greeted at once.  The owner came over to us and chatted and treated us to a yummy appetizer! We tasted that and knew at once that we were going to have some tasty food.  I promise a picture update will be posted.

Should you ever be in Ventura, you must stop by and taste the food.

Here is the address :

574 E. Main St
Ventura, CA 93001

Let them know that I sent you!

Let me know what you think?

Signing in from Las Vegas......North Las Vegas that is.

Hi!

It has been awhile since I have last posted.  It's been a bit hectic, but I thought a quick report would be nice.
Our family is actually in North Las Vegas and the weather here has been beautiful. Very warm compared to the cool weather in Tehachapi! =)  Hubby is conducting some wonderful bible lessons this week.  We have been staying with Pastor Jackson and his wife.  They are absolutely beautiful!!!  We have all been enjoying our time here.  Might I add that their children are a joy to be around as well.

Should you be in the area here is the address to the church.
6741 W. Alexander Road
Las Vegas, NV 89108

Also my Etsy shop will be closed at a crucial time of the month, but as soon as I get back I will definitely be back in the swing of things.

Just a little laugh for you......I discovered this week that my soaps will actually fool you into thinking that they are edible.  I think I should make sure to say that my soaps are treats for your bath and not for your belly.   (I won't tell you who, took a bite out of it) HEHEHE!!!

Civic Musical Road

Here is information for you about the Musical Road taken from Wikipedia!  Only three in the world; the other two are located in Japan!
The Civic Musical Road was built on Avenue K in Lancaster, California, United States, on 5 September 2008.[7] Covering a quarter-mile stretch of road between 60th Street West and 70th Street West, the Musical Road used grooves cut into the asphalt to replicate part of the Finale of the William Tell Overture. It was paved over on 23 September after nearby residents complained to the city council about noise levels.[8]
After further complaints from city residents about its removal, work began to re-create it on 15 October 2008 on Avenue G between 30th Street West and 40th Street West — this time, two miles away from any residence.[9][10] This road is named after the Honda Civic. It opened two days later.[11] The new section on Avenue G is only in the far left lane of the westbound side of the road.
The road appears in Honda Civic commercials. The rhythm is recognizable, but the pitches are so far off that the melody bears only a slight resemblance to the William Tell Overture. The intonation is not affected by the design of the car or the travel speed. It is likely the designers made a systematic miscalculation which affected all the groove spacings.[12]

Summer is almost gone

My Gigi's creation!
Summer is about gone, but I hope that you all have made some wonderful memories, were kissed by the sunshine, and experienced new things!

My children experienced Olvera St. in Los Angeles; that was very fun. We did take pictures, but I don't think I want to share them with the world! =)  But, I can tell you, we all wore sombreros while there!  It sure did seem so much bigger when I was a kid.  Chinatown is walking distance from Olvera St. so I was so happy we all had our comfy walking shoes on to go  and sightsee. That was also nice.

Let me tell you about the Getty Museum! I totally loved it.  I am hoping to go back there.  Here is the link so that you can check it out http://www.getty.edu/museum/  Should you be town, I would recommend to go and take a look!

Well, my friends, we have a few days left.....so, let's go and enjoy before the start of a new school year!!!

Family Day @ Murray Farms

AHHHH, family days are the best!

Our family puts aside Thursday for strictly our time. The type of work my husband does, really takes a lot of our time away from one another.  He is not a doctor (he is a pastor), but he is on call 24 hrs a day.  We fell blessed that God has called him to work for Him, so in no way am I complaining.  Thursdays are set aside where we can connect as a family.  (No emails or phone calls, we screen our calls and of course if it's an emergency we are going to answer!  It's just our time!)  Where we can kick up our feet, or go visit friends or places.

This Thursday, my hubby took us to a local nursery, which I have been wanting to visit.  The flowers were just beautiful!  Their gardens were inspiring and I have fallen in love with Lavender.  So look forward to some post and our experiences trying to get that started!

As we left the nursery, we headed to Murray Farms which is located in Bakersfield.  It was so much fun.  We were able to sample their fruits and as you can see the kids wanted to try on some hats and glasses! There is a lot to do there, so if you are near my neck of the woods, make sure to stop and visit.
